More About Us
Why I Started the Foundation and Programs
Hola! My name is Alba Huex. I am a Mayan Guatemalan woman from San Jose, Peten, a small Mayan Itza Community on the shore of Lake Peten Itza in northern Guatemala. I founded the Foundation on November 7th 202. three months after my father passed away,
He started reforestation programs since 1,975; Planting, collecting and sharing seeds in our community.
he always believes that the children are the souls of the changes to preserve the forest and care the earth.
he was teaching and passing his knowledge to the children how to protect the environment planting. and harvesting native products
to keep teaching the kids and sponsoring the Foundation programs in San Jose Peten

we keep open Mundo Maya Guest Houses for travelers, volunteers around the world who desire to immerse learn and practice their Spanish in Guatemala through a full community experience while learning about the local culture and workshops that my father started teaching experiences such as Making Natural ropes, natural mayan medicine in his Garden now called Mundo Maya Guest Houses.

I'm Alba Huex her middle daughter of 6 girls. and I'm delighted to share and open doors to our Place to anyone who desire to live a community authentic local experience.
is my passion because it is a local project running in my hometown that both engages and supports members of the local community. The programs and workshops are associated activities directly touch lives and improve the local economy by providing economic alternatives and resources to protect the Maya knowledge, techniques and practices to reduce poverty and food security while protecting the rainforest in the North of Guatemala
